Jeager LeCoultre celebrates the 85th anniversary of the Reverso at the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club

Jeager LeCoultre celebrates the 85th anniversary of the Reverso at the Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club
The Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club was the setting for an elegant Art Deco themed celebration on Tuesday March 22nd, as Jaeger-LeCoultre invited 100 guests to participate in commemorating the 85th birthday of its iconic Reverso watch.

The Art Deco theme was chosen as a fitting tribute to the design elements and era when the Reverso was first created in 1931. During the evening, guests discovered the Reverso Heritage exhibition, which included pieces from 1931 as well as the latest Reverso Tribute and Reverso One collection, which were launched during a similar event at SIHH earlier this year.

The Heritage pieces included the ground-breaking Reverso, first invented for British army officers in India in 1931 so that they could protect the crystals of their watches while playing polo. Also featured were the manually wound mechanical Reverso Cordonnet, and the timeless 1936 Reverso for ladies which forms the inspiration for the new Reverso One ladies’ collection. Additionally, there were Reverso pieces from 1991 onwards, reflecting a time when the Reverso entered the era of complications such as a minute repeater, tourbillon, perpetual calendar, duoface and chronograph.  These included the ladies and men’s Duo, Duetto as well as timepieces featuring Grande Complications such as the Reverso Gyrotourbillon.

Guests and friends of the brand who were present at the evening hosted by Jaeger-LeCoultre, were welcomed by Brand Director Marc de Panafieu. “We were delighted to welcome our friends to share this very special occasion with us. The Reverso is a style icon with a timeless appeal in both form and function. With its rich heritage of 85 years, there is one for every wrist, “ said Marc de Panafieu.

As the evening progressed, guests were given the opportunity to visit the engraving station that was specially set up for the occasion. There they could have their initials or a special date engraved on the reverse of small bracelets offered by Jaeger-LeCoultre as a souvenir of the celebratory cocktail event.

The event began with an element of surprise and excitement as hostesses and waiters took over, staging a flash mob while dressed in Art Deco costumes. They danced to beautiful music much to the delight of all, thereby making the evening as unique and memorable as any Reverso. DJ Patchouli then took over, with beats that set the mood for a festive night on the dance floor.
